Caldwell COVID-19 

Caldwell County on Wednesday reported 509 COVID-19 cases and 1 death

since Monday. This month, 2,310 COVID cases have been reported , the

most in Caldwell County of any month since the panademic began.

Currently, 29 Caldwell residents are in the hospital.


Lincoln Woman Faces Multiple Charges  

A Lincoln County woman is charged with stabbing a man, leaving the

scene and crashing a vehicle. Deputies were dispatched about 6:15

Wednesday morning to Springs East Road after Lincoln Communications

received a call from a man who said he had been stabbed with a butcher

knife. When officers arrived, the suspect was leaving the scene in a pickup

truck and a chase ensued that ended when the driver wrecked near the

Catawba-Lincoln County line. Officers apprehended the driver, 48-year-old

Connie Mae Hallman of Lincolnton. The victim in the assault, 58-year-old

Randy Beal was taken by Lincoln EMS to Atrium Health-Lincoln where he

was treated for his injuries. Hallman, who faces numerous charges, was

placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center without the privilege

of bond.
