A suspect, wanted in two armed robberies in Catawba County, is detained by authorities. Anthony Scott Jordan, 45, was arrested after allegedly Little Ceasars restaurant on 12th Avenue NE Thursday afternoon. Officers reportedly located the suspect's vehicle shortly after the theft; with Jordan inside. he has also been identified as the same person responsible for the armed robbery that occurred at Boost Mobile the day before his arrest. Jordan has been charged with two counts of armed robbery and is being held under a $50,000 bond at the Catawba County Detention Facility.

Assessment Teams surveyed the damage from last week's tornado. According to Caldwell County Public Information, total homes affected in Granite Falls include, 31 homes damaged, with 15 homes sustaining major damage and 1 home destroyed. Homes affected in the unincorporated areas of Grace Chapel Road are, 658 homes damaged with 49 home having major damage and 5 homes destroyed.

Contractors working for the City  will start replacing the decking on both bridges on the Morganton Greenway this week. Brushy Mountain Builders plans to begin work on the Silver Greek greenway bridge on Wednesday. The bridge will be closed during the day, while contractors are working, but should be reopened in the evening, barring any unforseen issues. City staff estimates it will take three to four weeks to replace all the decking on both bridges. Several boards on the Silver Creek greenway and Catawba River greenway bridges have deteriorated and need to be replaced.
