A disturbance at a Morganton motel leads to the recovery of over 3.5 ounces of cocaine and the suspect is charged with holding a woman against her will. Just before 4am Thursday, Public Safety Officers responded to the Plaza Inn on South Sterling Street, after an anonymous caller told dispatchers that a female friend was being held against her will in a room. Officers interviewed the caller who stated that Tristan Means was holding the female at knifepoint. Officers knocked on the door and Means answered. Officers observed a knife on a table beside the door. Means was detained while Officers found a female hiding in the bathroom. The Burke County Narcotics Task Force was contacted to assist with the investigation, with K9 Shrek helping to locate over three and a half counces of crack cocaine. Tristan Means was jailed at the Burke Catawba Detention Center under a $60,000 secured bond, with a Burke District Court appearance scheduled for today.
A Caldwell County man is charged is connection with a shooting in the Dulatown community. Deputies responded Wednesday to Roy Dula Place. The victim had been tranported to the hospital was considered stable. Deputies arrested 19 year old Makhu Aundrel Dula Wednesday night at a residence on Harper Avenue. He was placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond. The investigation in the case is still pending.
