At the Lenoir City Council meeting Tuesday, two City employees were recognized for heroic actions which helped to save a local man's live. The two City of Lenoir employees, Brandon Goble and Tracy Huffman, received a "Service beyond Measure Award of Valor" for their efforts. Lenoir City Council also agreed to call a public hearing to consider allowing "Urban Archery Deer Hunting" within the City of Lenoir. The public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday March 15th and will be held on the 3rd floor of Lenoir's City Hall due to the election primary.
Hickory City Council met Tuesday night, a large portion of the meeting included presentations from 13 different Commissions and volunteer boards and councils. Some of the groups asked for funding, while others provided City Council with annual updates. A six item consent agenda was passed with one public hearing to consider an ordinance to restrict Un-Muffled Engine Noise with the Hickory City Limits. Council voted unanimously to pass the ordinance.
