Morganton Public Safety Fire Fighters save a home from an attic fire. Crews responded just after 10pm Friday to a residential fire on Hilltop Street. Light smoke was observed from the attic area. Firefighters vented the roof and extinguished the fire from inside the residence. No one was injured. The Burke County Rescue Squad, The Red Cross and Burke County EMS assisted Public Safety at the scene and no one was injured.
Multiple felony charges are filed on a Nebo man. The Burke County Sheriff's Office Monday, charged 23 year old Jacob Ballard Hensley with Forced Breaking & Entering, Larceny After Breaking & Entering, and Possession of Stolen Goods. He was placed in the Burke Catawba District Confinement Facility under $10,000 secured bond with a Superior Court appearance March 14th.
Multiple methamphetamine charges are filed in Catawba County on a Burke County resident. The Catawba County Sheriff's Office Monday, charged 43 year old Jeffrey Harmon Ray of Morganton with Manufacture Methamphetamine, Possession/Distribute Meth Precusor and Conspire to Manufacture Methamphetamine. Ray has a Catawba County court appearance scheduled for tomorrow.
An Old Fort sex offender has been charged with violating a state registry rule. The McDowell County Sheriff's Office Monday, charged 31 year old Joshua Kyle Martin with one felony count of failure to register as a sex offender. He was also charged with a felony parole violation. Martin was apprehended February 4 by probation officers with the N,C.Department of Public Safety.
