A new director has been named for the City Of Morganton Municipal Auditorium. Dr.W.Jim Smith will begin his role February 15th, replacing longtime director Bill Wilson, who recently announced his retirement. For the past ten years, Smith has served as worship leader at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, where he intends to remain part time. Smith has produced and directed the church's singing Christmas Tree show at COMMA for the past eight years; with the production growing from a three night event filling the lower level, to a four show standing-room-only musical display. A news release states that Smith grew up in Brevard; serving in churches, community organizations and public schools throughout his career.
