An Eastern Burke County woman, who was reported missing Thursday night, has been found dead. The Morganton News Herald reports that 21-year-old Dalinette Trinidad Del Valle of Hildebran was located about 7pm Friday off the I-40 Access Road at Exit 119 Hildebran. It appeared that she had been hit by a vehicle. The News Herald reports that 30-year-old Jonathan Lee Burgsteiner of Hickory has been charged with felony hit and run.

A Morganton man has been charged with First Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and Extortion. The Burke County Sheriff's Office, Friday, reported the arrest of 19-year-old Hillard Lee Holland. He was placed in the Burke Catawba District Confinement Facility under a $100,000 secured bond. The investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the SBI, Internet Crimes Against Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations.

The Burke County Sheriff's Office summer campaign to serve warrants has resulted in the arrest of 100 individuals on 181 warrants. the campain began June 20th.

McDowell County detectives are seeking information about a Nebo residential breakin that resulted in a gun and swords taken. Harold Ward of Deer Park Road reported July 4th that an AR-15 rifle, 250 rounds of ammunition, cash and 5 swords were removed.
