A missing teenager who ran away from her home in Lincoln County is believed to possibly be in McDowell County.

A news release states 17-year-old Alyssa Jordan Davis left her Iron Station home early Tuesday morning following an argument with a family member.

She is described as a white female, 5-feet-3 inches tall with blue eyes and brown hair.

Davis may be in the company of Jackie Goldsworth or Eli Goldsworth and may be in the Marion or Nebo area.

Anyone with information about Davis’ whereabouts should contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 704-732-9050.




McDowell County has established a designated number to request help with home cleanup following recent damaging rains.

Now through Friday June 22nd, McDowell residents simply dial 2-1-1 for cleanup assistance.

As they are able, reputable and vetted relief agencies may assist those affected move earth, cut fallen trees, and remove drywall, insulation, flooring, furniture, and appliances.

All services are free, but service is not guaranteed due to the overwhelming need.

Just dial 2-1-1- McDowell County only- and a specialist will connect you.

Your information will be shared with volunteers who can provide cleanup assistance and the tools and equipment necessary to complete your project.



The price tag to fix recent storm damage is up to 17-million dollars in western NC- that according to state DOT officials.


While most roadways previously closed due to debris from flooding have reopened, officials say some fixes are only temporary.

Motorists could be seeing work zones throughout the summer as more permanent repairs are made.

Where damage is more complex and extensive, contractors will be brought in to complete the work.
