11 pounds of marijuana are seized in Alexander County, two people are arrested from a narcotics investigation. On Friday, the Alexander County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division made the arrests after a search warrant was served at the residence of 24-year-old Jose Martires Canales, Jr. Also arrested was 22-year-old Kaslyn Elizabeth Wallace. The search warrant came after a package was intercepted at the Taylorsville Post Office that had been shipped from California. A Sheriff's Office K-9 alerted to the odor of narcotics on the package. A controlled delivery was conducted with assistance from Taylorsville Police and the Postal Inspection Service. Canales, Jr was confined under a $30,000 secured bond and charged with Trafficking Marijuana. Wallace was charged with Possession of Meth and Possession of Marijuana and bond was set at $2,500. The ongoing investigation lasted several months, according to the Alexander County Sheriff's Office.
