Investigators with the Burke County Narcotics Task Force conducted a search warrant, Wednesday, at a location on Conley Road, Morganton. The Sheriff's Office reports states that inside the residence was 46 grams of methamphetamine, 2 firearms and $500 cash. Taken into custody were 54-year-old Ricky Chris Reep and 54-year-old Carolyn Snyder Leonard. The faced felony charges of Trafficking Meth, Possession with Intent to Maintain, Sell or Deliver Schedule II, and Maintaining a Dwelling, Vehicle, or Place for CS Drugs. Bond on each was set at $100,000 secured with court appearances scheduled for today.

A Morganton teen has been charged with having sexual contact with an 11-year-old girl. McDowell County authorities have charged 18-year-old Taylon Samuel Williams of Wesley Drive with two counts of First-Degree Statutory Rape. Reports indicate Williams is accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with the juvenile female acquaintance when he was 15 and 16. The suspect lived in Marion previously where the crimes occurred multiple times in 2015 and 2016. The victim reportedly revealed the incidents to family members, who in turn contacted the McDowell County Sheriff's Office.
