Burke County Public Schools now offers a new way to report bullying online. An incident form is available at www.burke.k12.nc.us under the "Parent" tab. The link allows anonymous reporting of bullying. The person filling out the report does not have to share his or her name, but is asked to answer questions that are required in order for school officials to investigate the report. Anyone can fill out the form: the person being bullied, a student, employee, parent, community member or friend.

An Ohio man was arrested for assault on a female Saturday at the GNCC race at Steele Creek Park. During the four-wheeler race, Burke County Sheriff Deputies were approached by a 17-year-old female who said she had been assaulted during the race. According to the GoPro footage from her helmet, deputies were able to determine an assault had occurred. 56-year-old Glenn Daniel McConnell was identified as the man in the GoPro footage ans was compliant with deputies when asked to go the Magistrate's office. He was charged with Assault on a Female and placed in custody under a $1000 secured bond.

The Dobson Knob Fire in McDowell County was estimated 550 acres on Tuesday with 10% contained. The North Cove, Woodlawn and Linville Falls areas all continue to experience smoke. Travelers along 221 North should use caution.

A Hickory man will spend 25-35 years in prison after pleading guilty as charged to multiple sexual offenses with children during Catawba County Superior Court on Tuesday. 37-year-old Bradley Scott Adams pleaded guilty to 15 counts of sexual offense with a child and eight counts of indecent liberties with a child for sexually assaulting two child victims during a six-month period in 2013.
