A Connelly Springs mobile home is destroyed by fire. According to the Morganton News Herald, fire crews responded Sunday night to the mobile home on Berry Road. Two men living in the residence were able to get out when smoke alarms sounded. An adjacent mobile home received moderate damage. Assisting at the scene were personnel from fire departments from Icard Township, George Hildebran, Lovelady and Long View. Burke EMS and the Red Cross were also at the scene.
A Hickory resident faces multiple charges, including common law robbery and possession of cocaine. Hickory Police early this morning reported the arrest of 43-year-old Bryant Marshall Warren. Bond was set at $9,500 with a court appearance scheduled for tomorrow.
An Old Fort resident is charged with larceny of a motor vehicle. The McDowell County Sheriff's Office Monday, reported the charge on 30-year-old Brittany Mae Nicole Lewis. The vehicle, valued at $10,000, has been recovered.
New park hours begin tomorrow in the City of Hickory. New park hours will be 7am to 7pm. This coincides with all parks closing a half hour after sundown. You can check additional park information
