Hamby Arrest

A Connelly Springs man now faces numerous drug offenses including trafficking.

Reports with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office say 31-year-old Jordan Yates Hamby of 2275 Shady Grove Road is charged with meth trafficking, possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver meth, and possession of a schedule-2 substance.

On August 8th, state probation and parole officers along with narcotics investigators conducted an investigation on Walker Chapel road where they made contact with Hamby.

Officers were able to seize 156 grams of meth and drug paraphernalia after searching Hamby reports say.

He received a 100-thousand dollar secured bond.


WPCC New VP

Western Piedmont Community College announces Cynthia Davies as Vice President of Academic Affairs & Workforce Development.

Davies joins WPCC with an extensive background serving in community colleges for 24 years and most recently served as Dean for the School of Academic Advancement at Greenville Technical College.

Davies will begin her role on today.

While serving in her role at Greenville Technical College, Davies was recognized as the Educator of the Year in the Administrator Category for South Carolina in 2020
