Meanwhile, reports show the effects of Hurricane Michael have negatively impacted apple and pumpkin crops in western NC.

A farmer in Henderson County reports the weather was already too wet and hot, then Michael made matters worse for the area.

Growers are battling late summer apple-disease due to the rain and unseasonably warm days.

And with Halloween only weeks away, let’s not forget about the pumpkins.

After harvest, farmers are seeing rotting problems due to continued wet conditions.

One pumpkin grower reports losing about 25-percent of her pumpkin crop due to weather conditions; although the cooler temps are causing people to flock to the pumpkin fields prompting a boost in business in the last few days.
