Organizers have had to close employer registrations citing maximum capacity at the civic center. Hickory Police responded Wednesday to a report of vandalism at the Oakwood Cemetery. Officers discovered the mausoleum of James William Floyd disrupted with the casket removed and open. The skull was confirmed removed from the scene, with no other items of value taken, according to Hickory Police. The investigation is continuing by the Hickory Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact Hickory Police at 328-5551 or 261-2624.
